Rainbow Oak
Every now and then, I do something a bit different as it's good to go off piste and experiment! My friend Dawn wanted a much bigger version of this one for her, very white, new kitchen. My brief was a tree and lots of colour. I enjoyed doing it so much that I did this smaller piece. Both trees were done with palette knives, so different from my usual detailed work. Rainbow oak is acrylic paint and inks on canvas covered board. It measures 13.5" x 17.5" approx (34cm x 45cm) If you want a great splash of colour in your life, which screams "FUN!", then this one is for you.
Blue and Yellow Macaw
The blue and yellow macaw (fondly known as Malcolm) has such beautiful colouring I just had to paint it. I decided to paint the background really dark (not quite black) so the colours would pop out of the painting, making the macaw look as if it might move. I just love the colours in this.
H15.5" x 11.5" (29x39cm) hand painted in gouache on @TwoRivers hand made, deckle edge, 300lb paper - Unframed.

The Last Boat
I saw a boat out of the water at Lyme Regis, and I was quite taken with it, so I photographed it (or rather hubby did at it was freezing and my hands wouldn't work!) and this is the result. The background is from my imagination, so it can be anywhere you want it to be. It measures approx 21" x 18" (54cm x 45cm) Painted in gouache, pen and ink and on the wonderful Two Rivers hand made paper. This painting comes with a full length poem and a short story - Bargain!
Trouble Brewing
A Future?
This magnificent elephant, which had turned to face a group of people, was snapped by a friend on safari in Africa. Dawn kindly photographed lots of animals for me to paint. I decided on a question for the title as I do wonder what the future hold for these beautiful animals with so many killed due to poaching. Let's hope it's a good one.
Painted in acrylic on canvas and framed in a pale grey/brown, it measures H19.25" x W15.25" (49 x 39cm)

Twiga
As a child, my favourite animal was a giraffe. I then discovered dogs and horses but the giraffe has a special place in my heart. I love painting them, they have such beautiful eyes. Nicknamed "gloria", her eyes will follow you when she's hung on the wall!
This painting is acrylic on canvas - Head and neck study of a female giraffe - blue sky background.
H19.25" x 15.5" (45 x 39.5cm) Framed in off white.
